First Lego League Team
The 2026–2027 season is a true reset year, with a completely new LEGO robotics platform, new programming software, new mission styles, new project expectations, and an updated judging rubric. Because everything is changing, all students, regardless of prior experience, must attend one session of Advanced Robotics AND the Bootcamp (Aug 10–14) in order to apply for the team.
Sorry, there are no exceptions to this requirement. The season is short, and the team needs to be fully prepared and working at a high level from day one.
Spend your Sunday in great company and with our fabulous robotics team at our studio on Balboa Street in San Francisco!
What the Olympics are for sports, and the Nobel Prize is for science, FIRST Lego Robotics is for kid’s engineering. Join Celsius and Beyond’s award-winning team this Fall to participate in the world’s most prestigious robotics competition for youth.
Using the NEW format, platform, software, and rules, You will learn about project management, computer programming, robotics design, analytic thinking, problem-solving, research skills, long-term projects, presentation skills, open-ended tasks, and, best of all, working as a team.
Team membership is open only to anyone who have completed both our 2026 Advanced Robotics summer camp and the Bootcamp (August 10–14). Registration opens on August 20.
Fee: $1,750—Includes 20 hours of semi-private instruction, group instruction, approximately 15 hour of additional hours before competition, instructor time at the competition, competition material, registration for the program and the competition.
A team effort worthy of an award requires many hours. Each student is expected to participate in at least 80% of the weekly and pre-competition meetings.
Parents’ assistance is much appreciated and helpful. Areas of support are: the research aspect of the project, rehearsal of robot performance, marketing, and presentation.
Our admired instructors, Jae and Trevor, will lead the team.
Jae led the FLL robotics team for 17 years, 8 of them at Celsius. As the founder of STREAM Foundation, he has been involved in robotics classes, projects, and outreach programs. He is currently a software process automation developer.
Meeting time: Sundays. First meeting: September 7, 2026
Hours: 10 am – 2pm
The entire team will study the challenge, design the robot, and strategize
