Architecture - The Renaissance
The Renaissance (1300–1600 AD) was a time of massive cultural change when people started to question the norms of society. Leonardo da Vinci, the ultimate Renaissance man, imagined a world that was different from the one he lived in. We will look at the works of da Vinci and other architects of his time as inspiration to create our own vision, combining fractal theory, proportion, and more. Using the fundamentals of architectural practice to translate vision onto the page, we will create hard-lined scale plans, elevation drawings, and architectural scale models.
Campers will take MUNI on a field trip to view Renaissance-style architecture in San Francisco.
On Friday, parents are welcome to join us at an open house at 3:15 p.m. to view our one-of-a-kind models and help you take them back home so you can remember the impact of the Renaissance.
