The Art of the Real - Art Camp San Francisco
Albert Einstein wrote his special relativity theory without conducting a single experiment. He based it solely on his imagination. We will look for the unpredictable and stunning ways that art and science intersect by looking at the natural world, draw inspiration from it to create art. We will search the natural world, for examples of pure mathematics like Golden Mean and the Fibonacci sequence. We will exam the strange numerology of the plant kingdom, the structure of cells and viruses, patterns in water and sand, cosmic arrangements in space and more. We will use many different materials to create our art: acrylic and water paint, resin, printed paper, china markers, wax, fabric and more. On Friday afternoon, parents are invited to our art show to see how we elevated the beauty of science into a true art form.
