Darwin Doolittle - Evolution and Zoology
Over 150 years ago Charles Darwin came up with the evolution theory. His idea sounded so radical at the time that he waited 20 years before he published it! Today evolution is known to be true, and like Darwin, we will observe animals to look for clues to why they and other 100 billion species managed to survive — while an estimated 5 billion species went extinct. We will visit the SF Zoo, Aquarium by the Bay, local beaches, and California State University’s insect lab to learn about their unique survival characteristic. We will undertake exciting activities — including dissecting a shark! — in our quest to develop our observation skills and critical thinking.
