Car's V8 Piston Model building
You can stare under the hood of a car until you’re blue in the face, and it’s still not going to be clear how the engine can propel the car to fly down the highway. The piston is the “heart” of the engine and the part that transfers energy to moving parts. And like the heart, it is located deep inside, away from view. It is the brainchild of numerous inventors who wanted to change how the world moves. We will build a working model of a V8 engine from wood, metal, and plastic. We will learn about compression, spark, fuel, and why each matters. At the end of the week, you will take your model home as a reminder of the moment when car engines were no longer a mystery to you!
