woodworking - Small Projects

Combine your own powers with carpentry tools to create beautiful wood projects. You will make a box for your personal treasures, a birdhouse, key and phone holder, pencil and notes holder, and candy dispenser. You will hammer, saw, screw, sand, drill, and paint to your heart’s content as you turn a pile of scrap wood into a work of function and beauty. Take home all of your projects and enjoy them for years to come!

Kids will use handsaws, hammers, drills, screwdrivers, files, and other tools. Electric saws are excluded.

For Grades 3-6

Michael Patterson

Led byMichael Patterson

With the help of his father and brother, Michael built his first tree house at the age of 6.  Mounted 7 feet off the ground, the tree house was complete with real roof, a couch, a TV and is still standing tall to this day.  Since then he has been helping his dad in his woodshop building cabinets and other fun projects.

Michael previously co-taught at Celsius in the Architecture camp.

Michael was the captain of the basketball and track teams in High School.  He is currently an economics major at San Francisco State University. He is planning on becoming a firefighter so that he can save houses and treehouses from fire.
