Uncover the intricate art of restoring injuries to bones, organs, and skin through real-life surgical techniques that surgeons use daily to mend and heal.

In our hands-on program, you’ll engage in practical exercises using simulated surgical scenarios on frogs, chicken organs, and faux human bones. Explore the realm of surgery with real-life techniques, including endoscopy, suturing, drilling, and more. Hone your skills in mastering suturing techniques, fracture plating, ACL reconstructions, anesthesia administration, CPR, and the delicate art of removing cancerous growths.
As the week unfolds, you’ll have the unique opportunity to showcase your new-found surgical prowess during the grand opening of our Emergency Room. Invite your parents to witness their future surgeons in action, celebrating a week filled with learning, skill development, and the excitement of the surgical arts!

Harrison Li, Cambridge / UCSF Med School

Led byHarrison Li, Cambridge / UCSF Med School

Harrison was inspired to pursue medicine after his family was struck with a tragic cancer diagnosis. The experience motivated him to dedicate his life to finding more effective treatment and screening options for cancer and other devastating illnesses. He has always loved mentoring youth and wants to inspire others to see how science, from laboratory benchtop studies to translational and healthcare disparities research, is critical to saving lives.

Harrison is a prolific researcher. He has published 30 peer-reviewed papers in diverse areas such as cancer immunology, intratumor microbiome, and COVID-19 outcome disparities. He is interested in the application of artificial intelligence and data mining to uncover diagnostic markers, treatment targets, and systemic disparities in access to care and treatment outcomes. He has presented his work at numerous conferences and received 13 awards and scholarships, including the prestigious Churchill Scholarship.

Harrison has a B.S. in Bioengineering from the University of California San Diego and a Master of Philosophy in Medical Science from Cambridge University UK in Cancer Research. He is currently a medical school student at the University of California San Francisco.
